About Us

The NCBC is advised by a national steering group with multi-professional representation from the participating centres and the relevant British cardiac professional societies.

The work of the NCBC is run and managed by Miles-Green Associates, a small independent health service management consultancy.  The directors (Dr Stephen Green and Dr Rebecca Miles) have had long careers as senior NHS managers, public health specialists and in the 3rd sector. They have specific expertise in strategic health service planning, information analysis, public health research, needs-assessment, benchmarking, performance management and quality improvement.

Membership of the NCBC is open only to cardiac centres based in NHS Trusts, Hospitals or Health Boards, and who provide specialist cardiac services (cardiology, cardiac surgery and cardiac critical care). Centres pay a modest annual membership subscription to belong to the NCBC.
